Bioconc as a concrete bio-additive: mycelia grow to fill the concrete’s micropores, “inserting” into the cement paste and reducing the cement content of the concrete jobmix.
When a crack forms, O₂ enters it and activates the dormant microbes to produce urease + calcite — reacting to form CaCO₃ that seals the crack.
Improves concrete watertightness. Tested to DIN EN 12390-8:2009-07 at the Construction Laboratory of Universitas Indonesia, water penetration was at most 15.8 mm, below the 25 mm watertightness requirement, so Bioconc works as Bio-Integral Watertightness.
